One of the best Mortal Kombat Games
The game's plot once again isn't that different from the other Mortal Kombat Games, beat a bunch of guys and girls in really cool costumes into a bloody mess, however this time around the Realms have produced too many strong and powerful fighters, that the tournament threatens to destroy the entire universe, the result of all these mighty warriors clashing in a full on battle royal is that a fail safe put in place by the Elder Gods activates, unleashing the powerful elemental known as Blaze who's main objective is to kill as many of the fighters as possible, thus restoreing balance to the MK Univese.
The storyline itself is reflected in the character select screen, which is filled to the bursting point with selectable characters, making it look more like a Mortal Kombat High School Reunion then a character select screen. However, this is one of the games strongest points, giving gamers a wide variety of characters and moves to choose from. Another of the game's strong points is the Kreate your own Fighter feature, which allows gamers to create their own MK character. In addation to the Kreate your own fighter, MK: Armageddon also includes a wide of special features, including a racing game.
While the game is a solid fighter that fits in well with the Mortal Kombat Storyline, it's not without it's flaws, the biggest of these are the repetitive gameplay, and profile creation. Of the two the biggest flaw is having to create a profile. In most games it is rather easy to create a profile, however with Armageddon it's a challenge, with the worst aspect being the imput of a code in order to activate the profile, and the fact a profile is required in order to access some of the game's special features.
Dispite these flaws, Armageddon is a well executed game that will appeal to die hard MK and fighting game fans.
