Background: Big fan of MK (the old days of 2D glory). I bought this game the first day it came out. I stopped playing after 20 minutes. I'm not sure how it is on Playstation 2, but the controls are awkward and didn't feel responsive. You can tell this is a western fighting game.... with all the sterotypes and over the top blood. If you've played Deadly Alliance, congratulations. You've just played Deception. Do not allow yourself to be duped into thinking this game is new or different. Take DA and add online. The online portion is lack luster. No lobbies (like most live games), just opti-match and quick play. The online portion was smooth and lag free. Other than that, it was taking a crap game and sharing the total crap with other people. So buy this game if you like: - Fighters who bounce like basketballs when kicked in the face, propelling 15 feet in the air after landing on the ground - Fighters who's faces bleed when they get kicked in the ankles - Two gallons of blood squirting out every time you get punched or kicked, no matter how small the impact was - Crappy gameplay Don't buy this game if you like: - Real fighting games - Street Fighter - Don't like flushing $50 down the toilet - Ed Boon (just joking.... or am I?) Avoid this game. Rent it if you must. Be prepared to have an excuse for blockbuster when you want to return it in two hours.
