MK:D might be the best in series, but it still doesn't manage to impress me as the early MK games did.

MK: D is a nice addition to the MK franchise which packs some really cool characters but other lame ones. The game has many pros and cons in my opinion. I'll list those in their respective categories: Gameplay: while it's much like DA, it still add upon it a great variety of fighting styles and a new level of interactivity in the environments. Moreover, the death traps add a new depth to the pacing and strategy of the gameplay, but some are really lame and poorly designed (e.g. the Yin Yang death trap). The returning Liu Kang, though 'zombidised', brought cheers to me. However, some new characters are lame and do not fit into the series-style characters. The fighting styles are becoming dated and the game needs a new feel by making the fighting styles more dramatic. The new konquest mode sure acts as an advantage. Graphics: well-rendered character models some nicely-designed arenas give a nice impression. However, the game still has so much to improve upon; it should have looked more polished and clean which is very possible. Sound: some of the characters sound impressive (GET OVER HERE!!!!!), and the voice acting during konquest mode is well-done at times and feels scripted at others. The sound of characters shouting in awe as they're falling brings some nostalgic memories from old MK games. Value: I still couldn't unlock all DA koffins, let alone this one's. Konquest mode again acts as a pro as it has so much dubbed into it and is difficult to uncover all the first time you go through it. Lasting appeal: the game draws you in quickly as you notice the new changes, but throws you back away as you play it thoroughly because you'll find that it's not drastically changed.
