The very first time I put this game in my PS2, I was blown away. The sound was near perfect, and the gameplay was so fast, even though I was Shao Kahn. Which brings me to another thing, the selection of characters. You can anyone, You can even play as any of the bosses from MK 1, 2, and 3. Which means you can be, Shao Kahn (MK 2 and 3, Kintaro (MK 2), Motaro (MK 3), and Goro (MK 1). So that was really a treat. Now, the load times are really long, which kind of brings down the gameplay. But the load times are about the only thing that are bad in the game. Luckily, you can turn off the load times for Shang Tsung's morphs. Oh, and I almost forgot, the graphics reign supreme. for the PS1, they look fantastic. Now, I know that the game uses digitized actors, but the effects, and the backgrounds look so cool. Here's something I just figured out the other day. You can turn off the combos for that classic MK feel of gameplay. All together, Trilogy is one of the best MK games in history. Check it out.
