Rock'n Good Time
By far the greatest addition to the stand-alone expansion is the multiplayer. 64 player servers create a chaotic and incredibly exilerating experience with axes, blood, and the screams of death echoing across the fields of battle. The multiplayer has 5 game modes: Team Deathmatch, Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Capture and Destroy, and Conquest. Interestingly, most game modes lead to un-intentional teamplay, where survival is vested in working together with the rest of the team. Albeit, there are those that are beasts and can cut through 10 players by themselves, and that truly is a sight for a gamer's happy eyes.
This game is so close to being something of a masterpiece. If only the developer's had hefty budget to invest in the game to better the graphics, add more dimensions, and polish the rough edges, Mount and Blade would truly stand as one of the most ambitious and entertaining games developed. The future of the next Mount and Blade games from Taleworlds is promising.
