M&B is truly under-appreciated. It's an openworld gaming environment. A Medieval version of "Elite" meets Robin Hood. No wizards, orcs, dragons or elves. A nice medieval setting for you to start out with nothing then build up a large army of 100 or more troops. The combat is very unique and fun. Taking 80 knights on horse and charging the enemy ... very Braveheart-esque.

All in all - its not perfect but its really solid, re-playable and enjoyable. It is got decent graphics, great story line (a bit shallow sometimes but does a good job). Adding your companions, the feudal politics between the Nords, Rhodorks, Vaejirs, Swadians and Khanate makes it very deep at times.

Again you build up your army. You choose your troops. You buy and sell goods, pay army wages. You choose which Kingdoms to travel to, who to do quests for. You fight and survive against looters, raiders and violent medieval gangs.

Take your sword, shield and horse. Ride into destiny with Mount and Blade.
