Man the main character is so hot!!!! errr....wait thats a dude.....

lol Whats up with japanese game devs. The main character is most of their games are usually wearing some incredibly retarded outfit or just look like girls. It must be all those crazy tv shows they have.....

Anyways MS Saga looked like it might actually be a fun gundam game. I loathe Gundam anything normally because its so unrealistic and fake how giant robots just fly around like birds in the sky and one gundam cut slaughter 1000's of enemy gundams in seconds. Give me battletech/mechwarrior any day of the week!!!! What drew me to MS Saga was that it had deformed gundams and even if I hate everything else gundam DS Gundams are cute and cool. Along the same lines as the gundams the graphics for other stuff looked good to so I risked it.

Combat is just your normal turn based snooze fest. Each turn you build up AP's(attack points). Different attacks take different amount of AP's to use. You can gaurd and build them up quickly or you can charge your gundam increasing how many AP's they get back a turn. Usually it goes something like attack - gaurd - special attack. Or gaurd - gaurd- special attack. There are long range attacks like guns and missles and short range attacks like fists and axes. Different pilots get different skills so try to max up weapons with skills to get the most benefit. Gundams to specialize in stuff. Some are made for melee and others are made for support and others are made to be long range weapons platforms.

You also want to match up your gundam to the right pilot and weapons to maximize things. Each gundam can be customized with legs, individual arms, optional parts, and weapons loadout its pretty cool. You will have to buy most of that crap but you can also find gundam weapons and parts by defeating enemy gundams. You can also earn enemy gundam data so that you can make your own gundam suit of that type. Which is usually a good idea since they are more than likely better than your gundam suits.

Besides being able to customize your gundam you can also upgrade them. Speed, HP, and attack power. All of this takes money as well. You can also repaint and rename your gundams. Some gundams are naturally better than others though and no amount of customizing and upgrading will make up for that fact. So example a Zeku 1 might never be able to get over 100 attack power while a Zaku 2 may reach 125 or 150. Those numbers are fake but you get the idea. Generally the more recent the gundam design the better it will be.

The story sucks, the sound sucks, and combat sucks but if your a gundam fan this is probably the best one that you will ever get to play since all the others I have played have sucked ten times worse lol. Oh dont worry you do run into some REAL females and they are pretty sexy to hehehe. I dont know how far I am into the game, i wanna say like 1/4th or 2/5th's. I dont think im halfway. I ran into a boss Gundam who just totally kicks the crap out of my gundams and i just finished upgrading them.....but then i got side tracked by other games and I havent been back but i will!! I got to see what other kool gundams and weapons i can use hehe.

So overall I would say get this game only if you can find it cheap(15 or less?) its definately not worth 20-40$. Front Mission games are like 10x better in every way though. Actually that brings up a good point. Why the hell didnt they use a tactical rpg approach to this game??
