MS Saga is just plain fun, no doubt about it.
But when it came out in the US I picked it up very soon after launch (a day or two after I believe). I can say that I was very pleased with my purchase.
MS Saga is actually very, very fun. The ability to customize mobile suits is truely great and a person can have a blast with that alone. The storyline can be a bit confusing at times. The story is a combination of "Mobile Suit Gundam", "G-Gundam" and "Gundam Wing" (and I believe there's a little bit of "Turn A Gundam" splashed around here and there if I remember right). Supposedly the game takes place many years after the Universal Century, when the callender year has changed to a completely different century yet again.
The storyline, though, is quite unique and mixes the three mentioned Gundam series quite well. The gameplay is fun, even for an RPG, and the mobile suits are very neat. Did I mention customizing them a blast?
I really only have two problems with the game; one is that the quests, as othe reviews of mentioned, require you to backtrack a lot. This also means that if you stop playing for awhile and forget where you were supposed to go next you'll be searching around for quite awhile. My other problem is that some scenes have voice-overs but other scenes do not, though it's like that in many RPGs (and it bothers me in all of them).
Overall MS Saga is a great game, even if it is an RPG. Thanks to MS Saga I think I'm starting to like RPG games a bit more.
I would definately recommend picking this up to any Gundam or RPG fans. Though if you're a Gundam fan and know a lot about the different series' such as I do then you'll be able to enjoy the game a lot more than a person who doesn't know much about the different series-- Mobile Suit Gundam, G-Gundam and Gundam Wing, primarily.
