Mysterious yet captivating tale where truth and vengeance cross paths

Murdered: Soul Suspect is one of the most interesting games I have ever played. On one side, it is a deeply engrossing story with gameplay similar to that of a point and click adventure. And that is where the game excels. The game has incredible pacing through out always keeping the player in suspense as to what could happen next. The world within the game is both believable and captivating, rich in information and lore. Their are interesting facts within the game that the developers added which goes above and beyond most games. Airtight games clearly put effort into Murdered that most games don't. Almost every NPC you may meet on the corse of the game has a very entertaining backstory But with all that being said, there is areas where Murdered falls short. The game has unnecessary action sections and a very uninteresting main character. Don't get me wrong all, and I mean all the characters are interesting besides the main one. But probably the most disappointing aspect of the game is how much interesting padding there is. Back to the action segments, for how boring and out of place and uninteresting they are, there is far to many of them. It felt as if the demons were added last minute because the developers felt they needed some sort of action, when in theory the story would have simply sufficed. There is also a huge amount of collectibles that are hidden throughout the world which can be either good or bad. While as much as many of the collectibles have lore.... Many of them feel lazy and out of place. But for what Murdered was, it is a recommendation because it is incredibly refreshing to play a game like it, but at the end of the day, it is not a game that is bad, nor is it good, but just simply ok. 6/10
