In a word, Bizarre.

Ah yes Mushroom Men. Definitely makes me question the creators frame of mind or drug use. The graphics are smooth. The world is a combination of Odd World and an arcade game feel. Movement of the character is pretty simple and adaptable. The battle system is sort of a hit or miss. I do pretty good fighting, but it still seems a bit chaotic between the rolling and jumping to evade and attack. Whilst amidst a heated battle with a foe, you find yourself continuously trying to determine " Where'd he go ? " before getting hit off guard. The unlimited lives makes up for that though. The weaponry is fun. The idea of collecting artifacts from OUR large world to be used to make weapons in the main characters small world ( ie toothpick, rubber band, corn on the cob holder) is entertaining. The puzzles are just the right level of complexity to keep the game moving. The only thing is, sometimes it's just a bit too bizarre for me. The strange creatures and sceneries conjoined with the weird industrial sounding music, seems like a fever induced dream or an acid trip, which I can only take in small doses without going bonkers. Also I'm never a fan of checkpoint saving, especially when it's time for bed. " Let me save when I want to shut down." But that said it is a very different and innovative game worth a purchase.
