If you've ever played a MX game on the consoles, you should feel right at home with MX. vs. ATV Unleashed: On the Edge.

MX vs.ATV Unleashed plays just like its console cousin. The pre-load system is the same, same tracks bikes all that good stuff. This game feels....like a Motocross game should feel. No more, no less. It isnt anything too special since its just motocross game. One MAJOR issue with the game is the turning with MX bikes and ATVs. If you push the analog a slight bit more than you intended, you fly right off the course and into the bleachers. Other than that though, the game controls well.......except the golfcarts (although those were not to great in the console version) The other vehicles in Unleashed handle fine, nothing special, but....good.

One of the best things about this game are the graphics. Althogh the frame rate could have been better, for a handheld, you cannot argue with these graphics. Bikes, players, uniforms, and enviroments look great, not to mention those crashing effects. The game also sounds good. The engine of the bike, the thump as the bike hits the ground, all sound great. The music is mostly rock with a few others thrown in there, but overall, nothing horrible there.

If there are two huge problems I have with this game, it is these two:
1. How could you not include friggen online play? That is probably one of the top five reasons you bught the game. IT makes me mad when games like this, who have multiplayer potential, dont't use it.

2. THeres no championship mode. baisiclly, you just ride around in races and win. No mode where your points get ranked, and you drop or raise in the standings.

If those two features would have been inclued this game might have been 8.5+, but with the lack of online play and story mode, you might just want to buy ATV Offroad Fury instead.

IF you are a true die hard MX or ATV fan (or hell, maybe a golfcart fan) you might not want to pass on this game, but for those wanting more fun out of a game, I suggest Daxter or Syphon Filter
