This game is ambitious, but it is very broken and frustrating

User Rating: 4 | MX vs. ATV Untamed X360
I bought this game thinking that since MX Unleashed was such a fun arcade racer, that Xbox 360 version could only be better. I was terribly wrong. This game has a lot of ambitions. It has tons of content and things to keep you busy, if you can get past the awkward physics this game has. For it's time, this is a nice game to look at, but you can't judge a book by its cover. This game's physics are horribly broken and even with 20+ hours trying to iron out the game's problems, I still found myself frustrated at this game. I really tried to like it. I love motocross games, but this one fell horribly short of decent.
Attempting to start a racing career in Untamed was a mistake. You cannot even turn correctly. Trying to turn feels awkward and unpredictable. Riding over different types of terrain feels even more awkward, with your racer flailing around every time you attempt to ride over a small rock. Taking to the air with your dirt bike or ATV feels fun, until you attempt to land on a perfectly good landing. If you drop off of a 5 foot cliff to flat, you will crash and your racer will fly off of the vehicle. If you try to scrub a jump and go too far sideways or lean too far backwards, your racer will fly off the vehicle. I'm not sure if this game is trying to be a realistic arcade racer or just an arcade racer but either way, it fails.
The music in the game is okay. The track list is a list of generic rock songs from the charts. The sounds in the game are another story. The vehicle sounds or terrible. If you attempt to climb a steep mountain, the vehicle will make the same sounds as it will when you are topping out at top speed. It doesn't even sound like the vehicle sounds are coming from your vehicle.
The planes and helicopters and monster trucks are so horribly broken it's not even worth talking about them. I bought this game hoping to have a fun motocross experience or at least be satisfied enough to play for a few minutes a day. But every time i play this game I end up being too frustrated to go on.
Please, make a good motocross game for us motocross fans. We deserve it. The folks who made PURE seem to have their stuff together, if only this game learned from that. I hope the upcoming REFLEX is not as broken as this.
