Yet another knock-off title that uses the same ideas Cityville and Farmsville have got in common
There is a little story plot for this game, after being locked away in the moon for centuries, Nightmare Moon is set free and spreading night across Ponyville. Twilight Sparkle and her friends can free Ponyville from her grasp and bring light and friendship back to the land. So your job is to rebuild the town and do multiple quests.
When you start you'll only have one pony to begin with which will be Twilight Sparkle, as you build more stuff and done a few side quests you'll be able to unlock other Ponies. When you're building a shop or factory you can assign a pony to do that job such as making bread or making building more stuff for Ponyville. To unlock more characters from the show you can use money to spend on buildings, parts or even trees, as you level up you'll be able to unlock more stuff to build and purchase more characters. There are also gems which can also be used to purchase characters or skip the time waiting when it comes to building more stuff or seeing other ponies doing work.
Each pony you select you can play a variety of mini games pending on which buildings or shops you have built, you can play a variety games like catching falling apples of trees, passing the ball back and forth to a pony or guiding a flying pony and collecting coins and clouds to speed faster. When you've completed these mini games you'll be able to level up your pony status and if they have more than 1 star they'll be able to work faster when it comes to work. Most of these mini games are very repetative and could have added a few more games to make it more fun but they havn't done that.
There are multiple quests to take but it's the same stuff we have seen in other games that have had this same idea when you look at other games like Cityville or Farmville. The soundtrack does a great touch for the game if you've been following the series you'll recognise most of these themes and tunes. The 3D animation used for every pony does feel a little choppy and could have been better if they were in 2D animated form instead of 3D. You'll also get modifications every time something is finished or a certain pony wants to play but you can easily change the options and settings for these modifications
It might be a fun game for a younger audience of if you have kids but you might be better off watching the TV series instead of spending a few wasteful hours on a Cityville knock off title.
