A good game... NOT. It's not good, and it's not a game.

If you're a Nintendo diehard like me, you've probably poured hours into Pokemon Diamond or Pearl, trying to catch 'em all in the hopes of doing something with them on the Wii. After the disappointment of Wii's first Pokemon entry, Pokemon Battle Revolution, my hopes were not high for this $10 WiiWare title, My Pokemon Ranch. However, even my low expectations went unfulfilled, as this is basically just another Mii Channel.

For the development of this WiiWare installment, Nintendo went with Ambrella. After what this developer did with Hey You Pikachu!, Pokemon Dash, and Pokemon Channel, I honestly cannot see why Nintendo would give yet another Pokemon job to these guys. And after "playing" (I hesitate to even use that word) it's obvious that Ambrella have had all the second chances they deserve.

My Pokemon Ranch is a game that never really begins, as once you've seen the first hour or so, you've seen all there is to see. This is basically just a sandbox where your Pokemon from your DS games can interact with your Miis. It's quite amusing at first, but wears thin REALLY quick. Oh look, your Jesus Mii is riding a Charizard! Oh look, all your Pokemon are forming a giant stack! And if you shake the WiiMote, you can make 'em all fall down! LOL!

Yeah, it's about as fun and interactive as it sounds. And if you don't own Pokemon Diamond or Pearl, you won't even have that many Pokemon. Your Wii will download 1 Pokemon a day through WiiConnect24. That is WAY too low.

The art style is pretty crap as well. The Pokemon have been remodeled to vaguely resemble Miis. I can understand where they were trying to go with this, but it's really quite ugly.

Overall, My Pokemon Ranch is nothing more than a gussied-up Mii Channel. There is no gameplay to be found. And it is in no way worth 1000 Wii Points ($10). Even if it were 1 Wii Point, you would still want to pass. This only goes to show that Nintendo needs to stop handing projects to Ambrella, because they obviously don't have the right stuff.
