I bought My Sims the day after the release of the game. I played a lot (got 4 stars on 5). The game is fun, but be warned, it's not a conventional the Sims' game. The graphics are cutes and less realistic (which I like for the Wii) so people who like cute little "chibi" should like it. The game is more a Lego style game. You need to create houses and furniture that people will like the essences. Essences are colors and objects you can use to decorate your furnitures. Example: the red apple have 4 colors, red, pink and 2 more complex patterns, but you can also use it as an object (apple). There is no more physiological or psychological needs, so no more need to go to the bathroom, speak with other Sims for your well-being. You can use the objects you made but just to see the animation there is no really utility for it. Except sometimes it gives you some essences but nothing you can't find somewhere else. The bad thing is that collecting essences is farming, and there are no social interactions besides being nice or mean, which give you happiness or angry essences. So if you like creative game you'll like it but if you're looking for a conventional The Sims you probably won't. It's a nice game for the family, youngster should like it, but too young might have issues creating stuff.
Good: Creative Fun Cute Good durability, your creativity and when you get bored is its limit
Bad: Not much interaction with people the interaction with object is just for show there is no use to use them
