A great CASUAL game!
Now, first, this game is not for everyone. If you like FPS, long drawn out RPGs, fast-paced arcade or twitch-action blockbusters, this probably isn't for you. If you like puzzles, detective games, and casual games in general, then you're in for some fun.
The best part about this game is the ambiance which is brought about by the music and the art. It just "feels" like a detective game and, as a player, you remaining focused on finding objects which eventually lead to finding the crook. The story is even better than the first installment as well (but both are dwarfed by the third game "Mystery Case Files: Ravenhearst").
Toward the end of the game, you've memorized where a lot of the objects in the room are and, if you're like me, begin to rush through at a frantic pace. And while the meta-games between levels offer you relief from hunting objects, they are a bit too simplistic and also become repetitive. Compared to the repetitiveness of other casual games, however, it's not bad at all. The best part is that there are different endings on replays.
This is a great game to play with friends or a significant other and can become quite competitive. It, more or less, becomes a race to point out objects on the screen and some fun trash talking can ensue. It's free try and only $6.99 at Big Fish Games - You can't go wrong there.
