Just one more time...

User Rating: 8.5 | Fushigi no Dungeon: Fuurai no Shiren DS DS
I'm surprised at the low ratings for Shiren. Sure, the graphics are dated, but the gameplay is addictive, which makes it great for the DS. You're expected to die many times in this game, but each time you do, you can gain allies that will assist you, store weapons that can help you chop your way through in a hurry. Every time I died I found myself just wanting to get back in and see if I could get a little farther. In order to continue after you die, you have to put in a request through the WiFi server, which is down about a third of the time unfortunately.
If I could have tweaked it just a bit I would have made rare items drops a little more frequent, but the overall difficulty just makes you rely on strategy a bit more and really think through your options when you happen on a room full of monsters. I recommend this one. There might be better games out there, but I recommend that you pick this one up if you like rogue-likes and the idea of a difficult game intrigues you.
