Well, what can I say about this game? The game had copied gameplay, mediocre story and level design... an overall average experience.

But why did I love this game so much?? To be honest, I can't really explain completely.. but it was just so.. immersive. The characters were wonderfully memorable AND YOU GET TO CONTROLL A GIANT FRIKKEN ROBOT! (Can you say, Power Rangers?? Awwwe yeah.)

Set in old-timey japan (Which is kind of funny because the land is littered with technology also. Another quirkey and fun aspect of the game) You, the Mystical Ninja Geomon and your buddies, the tubby Ebisumaru, the lovely Yae and the little robot that could, Sasuke band together to battle a great foe and save Japan. And.. pretty much that's it story-wise. Not to spectacular.. but it doesn't matter, because this one's about the journey, not the story.

You make your way across vast landscapes and whatnot via recycled platformer gameplay. You can change your characters and use their respective techniques. Also, everyonce in awhile you encounter a boss a bit to large for your tiny little pipe of a weapon, so it's then time to call upon Geomon Impact to get the job done. The gameplay controlling the robot isn't anything great either, but it's still fun. The difficulty is worth mentioning though.. it was very nice and steady as the game progressed. Towards the end of the game, the bosses were near impossible, but you got quite a bit of satisfaction after vanquishing them.

The graphics are great for the time, actually. Very colorful and well modeled. The sound is alittle more difficult to explain... the voice acting is all in Japanese, HOWEVER, it goes very well with the overall feel of the game. It seems the japanese language was intentional, which I think is awesome. And the soundtrack is great as well. The game is of average length. Not to long but not real short either.. it should tickle your fancy when it comes to length.

What else is there to say? In my own personal opinion... it's a gem. If you don't mind average platforming gameplay and don't expect an epic experience.. you'll have fun. That's all this game is.. fun. It's crazy, quirky and quite memorable. I havn't played this game for probably over 5 years, yet I remember practically everything about it.

It's interesting... and that's all there is to it.

Recomended.
