One of the most addictive arcade games yet. Make your your patience is in check before playing this one, however.
The way N+ works with that you have a "Episode" divided up into 5 levels each. You start out with a 90 second lifespan for each episode, and you have to get gold to prolong your life. Each level has a door switch and a door. The objective is to get to that switch, touch the switch to open the door, and then get to the door. Your character will do a little victory dance once you get to that open door, which is kinda cool. But it's not that simple, you'll have to evade a whole host of things that want to make you Ninja dust along the way and you'll have to jump your way across the level. These enemies are straightforward and simple to understand. By far, however, the most annoying enemy in the game is the ninja-seeking missile turret. This thing launches a missile that will follow and lead you. What makes this really annoying, is that you might jump behind cover, only to have the missile follow you behind that cover and make you into nice little Ninja-bits. Hell, I busted open my 360 controller because of this game, hence the frustrating part. It wasn't broken, just busted open.
The multi-player is probably the biggest selling point. online co-op in the co-op episodes might have players separated, with two going for the door switch, and two going for the door, with those two pairs completely separated from each other. Team work becomes essential, which is what co-op should be all about, relying on the other players.
If you're really use to the face-paced games of Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, and others, you might have a real hard time adjusting to this game, as it requires a LOT of patience. In fact, I got the achievement for dying 1000 times (yes, one thousand) before I even reached the 25th episode. While I might just suck at N+, it's not exactly for the casual player, even if it presents itself that way.
Overall, this is highly recommended for anyone who's looking for a great Xbox Live Arcade game that can kill tons of time. If you've got the MS points, go ahead and pick it up.
