Namco. The house that Pac-Man built. How did they miss getting this right if they have been around for 50 years?
If you are thirty something or older than you probably know what I mean. This was the age of enlightenment for video games. Where people would hang out at arcades playing pac-man, pole position and what ever caught your eye.
Now given the time lapse from 198X to 2005 means that some things would have changed for those people that were around back then and still alive.
1. We're older.
2. We're nostalgic.
3. We love facts and trivial information from our youth.
Well maybe this list is for me only, but if you relate then read on.
No. 3 is why I was the most disappointed with this game. I would have loved to have seen a video review from some of the creators, or any of the other features that are offered in compilations published by game companies that release compilations of bygone era games.
But the lack of anything remotely related to that seriously put a damper in my spirits. They did manage to catch some good soundtracks from this time period, but I can just get those of any music station.
As far as the games are concerned (16 total after you unlock 2) they are pretty decent ports and actually run pretty smoothly on the xbox. But for some reason loading the games or going back to the menu takes a little while to load.
So if you like your compilations with lots of extras then you might consider another.
