This game has been out in Japan for a while and it finally reaches our shores with Naruto: Ultimate Ninja. The gameplay feels a bit sluggish at time, but it's just when compared to games like Super Smash Brothers. The controls are really easy and it only takes about 15-30 minutes to get used to. No strategy needed here, just button smash the circle button to victory. Graphic wise the game looks good. All the characters look like their anime counterparts. With 14 character, most of which you have to unlock, thousands of capsules to collect, a mission mode and a story mode, this game will keep fans of the anime entertained for a while. My biggest complaint with this game is the audio. Hearing "Believe it" over 15 times in a match is annoying! Really annoying! If the voices in the Dubbed version were decent, then this wouldn't be a problem, but most of the voices don't really cut it. It's weird that this game lacks the ability to change the language from English to Japanese since CyberConnect 2 included it on their .Hack games.
So there you have it, this game is better than Clash of The Ninja but just because it has more characters. At this point this is the game to get. Decent combat, lots of items to unlock, nice cast of characters and horrid voices! Naruto fans owe themselves to at least rent this game.
If you are a fan of the anime, you have to buy this game. First off, in order to play it, you will need a PS2 capable of playing japanese games. I am a huge fan of the series, so I purchased one just for this game. ... Read Full Review
