Naruto Ultimate Ninja is a spectacular fighting game that bewilders the eye. It consists of about 12 stages and 14 characters (12 normal and 2 secret) The stages have both a foreground and background that you may jump to to get items or just physic your opponent out. If your life gets too low you can even switch stages mid-combat and you get a little life in doing so. In game play, you have close range combat consisting of your punches and kicks, far range combat consisting of various ninja weapons such as shuriken, kunai knives and senbon needles and you have your jutsu which can vary from spiting out a waves of fireballs to firing off an extra large fart that knocks your opponent into a paralyzed state for a short period time. The AI isn't that challenging at times in the story mode but can become a real pain in the ass afterwards. The story mode is just a series of fights (usually 6) with some comic book cut scenes in between. The voices however, do not match up with the mouth movement. The voice acting in general is good. All of the voice actors are full of energy and excitement. The mission mode is very fun and when you get high enough into the missions, you unlock the first secret character. When you are at the peak of the mission mode, you will unlock the strongest and most powerful character. All in all, Naruto Ultimate Ninja is an excellent game that is totally worth buying. The AI gets boring once you completely master the game but until then, its a but load of fun. It even has tons bonus content for you perfectionists. I will write a review for Ultimate Ninja 2 but don't wait up... I'm gonna have a hell of a time playing it.
