NASCAR 08 for the Playstation 2 might not be as good as the XBOX 360 and PS3 versions, but It still rocks!
Gameplay: In the previous NASCAR games, the main feature was "Fight to the Top" mode. In the XBOX 360 and PS3 versions of 08, the mode has been changed to somthing called "The Chase". I was glad to find out that N08 for the Ps2 also has a new version of the carear mode called "Earn Your Stripes". While it doesnt sound like much, it is. There are many new contracts, as well as many new features. I am glad that they got rid of the stupid phone feature. Ace Momeymaker is back, and he talks to you via E-Mails, and you dont have to wait a few seconds to listen to some audio message and delete it. The other modes are back, including "Chase for the Cup" and a few others.
Graphics: Even though they are not as good as the Nex-Gen game, these still rock. From the second you start your first race, you will see the difrence. The most noteable change is the fact that the damage models are completly redone. Even if you scrape the wall for one second, it will show. This leads to a more realistic game. You can also see the difrence with the new COT and the standard car in terms of height and handeling.
Sound: Not "wow" Materal, but it is still good.
Overall, I think that the game is not getting the credit that it should, and that it is better than it looks.
