Nascar 09 is a fun racing game way better then last years nascar 08. When I purchased this game I was very excited for the ability to customize paint jobs and the realistic graphics. Trust me though this game will frustrate the hell out of you. Lets start with the AI to be totally honest the AI drives like a rookie that just got his license. When the AI goes into a turn they go straight to bottom even if your there which will cause you to spin out or drive on the apron and shoot up the racetrack. then there's the Black Flags. What the hell was EA thinking in Nascar 09 the AI will black flag you just for tapping the other cars so dont even think about racing a short track with black flags on or trust me you will spend the whole race in pit road and since Chase for the Sprint Cup mode uses Black Flags winning is very tough.
The career mode is a little bit of a joke. Still though it's way better than 08 the only problem I found so far is that every 3 or 4 races you are asked if you want to change teams or sponsors. I think in the next Nascar game they should do a storyline kind of thing for career mode where how you race decides the story. They should at least try something more intresting instead of a screen that shows your points and what race is next.
I was also a little bummed that they didnt put driver celebrations in. After a race you can hit x to do doughnuts or whatever but I was kinda hoping they would put in Victory Lane cutscenes especially when your driver wins a championship.
Other than that Nascar 09 is a great racing game with great graphics good gameplay and way better driving then 08.
