NASCAR 09 for the PS2 is a solid game but there are some pretty big problems. The first is that none of the cars are classified by manufacturer. All the cars are just generic race cars. Another thing is that there are some great drivers missing from the Nationwide series. Brad Keselowski, Kyle Busch, Joey Logano, David Reutimann and many more are not in the game. The Truck series is even worse with only about 5 real drivers. In career mode you can only sign contracts. In older NASCAR games you could own your own team in career mode in each series but now you have to sign contracts and complete certain objectives to keep your ride. Some of the objectives are impossible. For one contract I signed in the Nationwide series I had to finish ahead of two of my teammates but I had only one teammate and I got fired for not completing the impossible objective. The graphics are not as sharp as they used to be like in NASCAR 06 and there are some noticeable glitches. In some races some cars appear to have no tires and then they appear after a few seconds. The career mode isn't as fun but this is still a solid NASCAR game. It's just not as good as older NASCAR games.

There really isn't much of a difference between NASCAR 09 and NASCAR 06 NASCAR 05....etc. It's all pretty much the same thing year after year. About the only big change this time is all the Sprint Cup cars are the COT. ... Read Full Review
