Some upsides make this game the best yet, but some things may also bring this game down-hill.

Much like the official review, but shortened, I'm just gonna point the good and the bad.

The Good:

- Awesome graphics.
- Rookies look great for the first time ever.
- Improved "My Player" mode.
- A lot of legendary teams and players to play as.
- New, cool as hell, presentation before games.
- Your created player will actually look sharp.
- "Training Camp" is very useful to learn new moves. (Use it.)
- 2k Share is as loaded of great content as ever.

The Bad:

- A.I is way too smart for the opponent PC...
- ... While you team's A.I is dumber than a door.
- A lot of over-rated players. (LeBron has an "offensive clutch" of 75... Which is impossible.)
- Rebounding system is rusty and can be frustating. (PC A.I grabs a lot of offensive rebounds while you grab one for the whole game.)
- PC never misses an open look, doesn't matter the player. (The other day Brenday Haywood nailed a 18 footer, simply because he was wide open and Javale McGee was fading away and making all of them.)
- VERY CHEAP A.I.
- You'll never beat teams that use and abuse the 3 pointer. (Warriors, Bucks, Thunder, and the likes.) Because the PC never misses a shot.
- VERY CHEAP A.I.
- "Simulation" sliders don't work at all.
- Almost impossible to steal balls.
- PC detects reach-in and shooting fouls way too often, even without contact.
- PC's defense is like a brick wall. Impossible to penetrate in the paint, impossible to dribble players, impossible to not call plays (otherwise you're not getting any buckets.)
- VERY CHEAP A.I.
- PC overuses fakes.
- Did I mention the A.I is cheap? ...
- ... Actually, very cheap?

Well, that about does it all.
It's a great game overall, but like I said, some major flaws (read above.) may bring this game down-hill to some players.

Word of Advice:
When defending, DON'T try to block the shot with the Triangle Button (or whatever button it is for Xbox) because that will not affect the player's shot, instead use the Right Stick to lift your hands up, it's more effective and it actually forces misses.

Only try to block when you're sure you can block, and do it only when you have a shot blocker and are inside the paint.

Also, DO NOT fall for head fakes and the likes (defending with the Right Stick avoids that) otherwise you will go flying up in the air, the PC will draw a foul and make it a "And One" play.
That's not what you want.

If you have a 3 point threat player in your team (Gary Neal for example), use and abuse the kind of plays that will leave him open for the 3 point shot, because if you don't, the PC will.
To do that, do the following:
L2 -> Select Gary Neal -> Select the play you want ( I recommend the second option, it often leaves him open with enough time to shoot a 3 ) -> follow the in-game "instructions", wait until the time is right to pass the ball -> Shoot.
