A NBA Live fan of many years...
Gameplay: The gameplay in the game is terrific. I believe no other game captures the pace of the NBA quite like this. Isomotion in my opinion is better than freestyle. It looks more realistic and feels more authentic. You can actually have a fast break on this game. Unlike live where the players speed rating seems like it drops by 20 when on a fast break. The only thing about gameplay that i do not like is when the computer tries to steal the pass, leaving somebody for a wide open lay up. Other than that, there are no other complaints about the gameplay.
Graphics: By far some of the best for a basketball game. One thing is the sweat effect. Players are a little too shiny. Jon Barry looks metallic at times in the game. But that is not major enough to effect the gameplay. You can only tell when in a cut scene. But life in the crowd, cheerleaders, the mascots, and player reaction is what makes the stadiums stand out in the game. The stadiums are brought to life in 2K6.
Sound: Commentary is excellent in this game. I enjoy listening to the commentary because it makes the game seem like you are watching a real one. Stadium sounds and crowds sound at its best in the game. The reason I gave sound an 8 is because of the soundtrack. A lot of the songs are annoying after the first time you hear it.
Value: All I have to say is this game is a keeper. Not bad for 40 dollars.
After playing this, I dont think I could return to Live. Live 07 Would have to be a 9 for me to consider purchasing it for next year.
