NBA 2k9 is a great basketball game indeed. But it also has it's flaws, some big, some minor.
The Gameplay - Feels good, feels realistic, and amazing stuff really happens! Like rejecting Nate Robinson with Pau Gasol and seeing the ball fly all the way across the stadium, yeah... All in all, it's really good gameplay BUT Pro Difficulty feels hard from time to time, and if you put it in Rookie it feels way too easy to bury 3 points.
The Graphics - Good looking game, really. But some models look odd, like Doc Rivers and Phil Jackson, both look bad, real bad. Also, if you don't have a HDTV you're gonna face some serious bad looking artwork, like what? For example, the team's logo on the center of the stadium will be looking REALLY bad, and almost everything will. Though, problem can fixed with a HDTV, as mentioned before.
Extras - NBA Blacktop has the traditional Dunk Contest, Dunk School and 3p Shootout. Also has something I found interesting, since every basketball player does that, The Game of 21, sure everyone knows what that is, right? And it also has something more, but not as interesting.
Online - It sucks, there I said it. If you have a bad connection, prepare to suffer with intense Lag. Saving the day, we have the Downloads Option, and from there you can download the most up-to-date roster, classic rosters made by users, and stuff like that. Just stay away from Multiplayer(if you have bad connection) and you'll be fine.
Well, breaking it down, it goes like this.
Gameplay - 8.5
Graphics - 8.5 (because of the issues)
Extras - 9.0 (Still missing stuff.)
Online - 8.0
So far, one of the best Basketball games out there. And it's worth a try.
It's addictive, Roster Download keep you updated, you can have loads of fun playing with a friend, and you'll complain a lot about the Fauls, and trust me, it's fun, sometimes.
