Game falls flat on face
The gameplay is where the game falls off like a rock. It all comes down to the dropped passes glitch. Some people have said that it is part of the game, that kids drop passes. Yes, indeed they do. But not 20 times a game on 50 pass attempts. This has been a noted problem for years that continually hinders the game and very little has been done to remedy the situation. Another problem with the game is how unbelievably easy it is to run the option no matter what level you are on. The AI of the computer oponents is sad to say the least. Hmm, if I run the option 25 straight times then I am thinking the opponent would figure it out and run either a corner blitz or some sort of outside contain. But nope, they continue to be in a loose zone or blitz up the middle. Another very unrealistic aspect is hail marrys or just general deep passes. When they aren't dropping them they are catching them for touchdowns. It isn't a matter of if the defense will make a play, because they won't. It is just a matter of if your guy will drop it for the 12th time in the game.
All in all, the game has some very solid things to build from. The foundation is there but until EA is willing to admit the faults with the passing, option running, and easy recruiting then it will just continue to be a mediocre though occasionally enjoyable game.
