this is a game that had me pretty excited. I thought after a year of the madden release that many of the previous portable EA football issues would be taken care of, but sadly it's just not a very polished product. the yardage thing is VERY annoying. one place that I have yet to see much complaining about it is kickoffs, since that doesn't factor in terms of downs and yards, but there is almost always the 3 or 4 yard discrepancy. the yardage problem is super annoying on 3rd and short or 4th and short. you are almost forced to pass. another place the yardage sucks is if you throw a comeback route, which almost always results in you being tackled backwards....there is no forward progress here at all, you are marked back the 5 yards or so which again can really suck on a close to first down play. I have also noticed if I put my psp in sleep mode the next time I try to play the game freezes upon loading my next game. my final whine is the big plays in the passing game. if you have an impact wideout and need a 3rd and 30 completion you are getting it WAY too often. I like a cruddy team overall, north carolina...but I can get 300 yards receiving to overcome teams that have me outmatched pretty much at will. this takes the challenge out as you can fall back on the huge play anytime you need to.
the graphics, control, sound etc. are all very similar to the ps2 version of 2006, which I didn't find to be a bad thing, just quite repetitive especially in the commentary. this game should be solid next year if they can fix a few minor problems.
First of all, I had to decide whether to get this game or this years version. Unfortunately EA didn't make a PSP version of 08, so I had to purchase this game. It was worth the purchase, however if you are a hardcore col... Read Full Review
