First off let me say I'v played almost all of the NFS games from High Stakes, HP2, Underground, and Shift to name a few. I was very disappointed in the past few games (Pro Street, Shift). This is a great throwback to the best NFS games. No need for unnecessary customization like the Underground Series. Just good fun racing.

First off the lack of customization is not an issue. Why would you need to add anything to these beautiful cars. I would cry if I saw someone rice out a Lambo. There is enough variety in the cars to provide a lot of re-playability to see how different cars feel.

The track design is very well done, probably the best Ive seen in any game recently. The transitions from the different environments are very smooth and offer vary different types of driving. The graphics look very good, the scenery is amazing and really draws you in.

The gameplay is almost too addicting, especially online. The single player mode is fun but definitely does not showcase some of the best moments in HP. Some of the races van be very challenging towards the end (mainly the time trials). The online mode is where this game really shines though. Playing Hot Pursuit mode with 4 racers and 4 cops is simply awesome. It becomes a frantic race of dodging attacks and scheming to plan escapes or take down the racers.

Overall this is one of the best NFS titles, even if it does have a hint of Burnout in it.
