Great Combination of Old and New in the Series

Take the old Need For Speed games that featured exotic cars that everyone wanted to drive and the fact that you have to race through some peaceful american countryside while cops are on your tale, then blend it in with some Need For Speed Underground city landscape and options to tune out your vehicle and you have Need For Speed Most Wanted. Along with that, you have to create a great rap sheet that has a police record to make you become the most wanted person in the game. You compete with other drivers for the "Most Wanted" title and have to go through a ranking system to become the number one driver.

Your tuned out BMW M3 is taken away from you through a competition of pink slips and you find out the person that took your car is the number one most wanted man in the city (which you have to take that title) and you have to start from the bottom and work your way up to him to get your ride back.

I like the selection of cars in this game. Unlike the other games where you take mostly sport compacts and tune them up, in this one you get to even take a Lamborghini and tune it up. You have FWD, RWD, and AWD cars big and small.

The game physics are much improved. Its very entertaining to see how the cars react to normal things such as rolling over different types of terrain, and the effect of the car shaking, trying to stabilize under the stress and windage of the environment.

This game has the best controls in the series. Its very easy to control the car and when you get good enough, you can learn to drift your car around corners to keep your top speeds. Its great to slide your car at 180 degrees, face the front end with the cops chasing you, and just zip right by them.

I personally deem this game a must own for Playstation 2 owners, and definetely a must for Need for Speed fans. I think just about anyone will find something they like about this game.
