Need for Speed: Most Wanted definately appeal's to the naked eye, but the wow factor just isn't there.
The gameplay in NFS:MW is quite enjoyable. When you're going 110+mph drifting isn't a rarity, just like in real life (not that I would know, just a guess :P). While turning can have it's ups and downs, unless you don't see it coming chances are you'll make out ok.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted has a variety of modes to play in. However, most of them are unlockable through career mode. Career mode is the core of the game, where you can race other speedsters and flee from the cops. Free Roam is my personal favorite. You get to drive around the playing area (or at least what you've unlocked) looking for a friendly (or not) pursuit from the cops or a hearty (well, not really) race with a fellow driver. You also start at #15 on the blacklist, having to work your way up to challenge the #1 man. With each next blacklist driver to battle, comes a set of requirements you must fulfil in order to battle that driver. Free roam is the main way to meet those requirements. But I won't spoil you anymore, you can figure out the rest when and if you buy the game.
The graphics in Need for Speed: Most Wanted could be better, but are up to par or better than previous NFS games. Occasionally, when you're going fast down a freeway, the game will slow a bit (which is even more noticeable when it's raining). After 10-15 seconds it should regulate itself though, or easing up on the gas pedal will quicken the delay.
NFS:MW sounds like a pretty great game, huh? Don't get ahead of yourself. While pursuits are enjoyable for a while, they tend to get rather dull after about 10 hours of gameplay, and racing other drivers doesn't quite compare. With Christmas right around the corner, this would be a great 'hold-off' game as I call it to prepare yourself for the fun games that are sure to come; but if you're planning on getting this for a gift to someone or a recommendation for your parent, you might wanna think twice about it.
