If you compare it to the old NFS of Carbon and Most Wanted, it doesn't live up to expectations. But if you think of it as a completely new game, Gran Turismo pops up in mind. NFS has always been a revolution of chain-linked games that constantly changes. And for a good reason. After playing NFSU2, I noticed similarities to its mother, U1. Now, in PS, we don't see it as a Need for Speed game any more, but something completely new. EA has done a great job for this one, but don't be fooled by the hype. There are some weak spots of the game. Firstly, the racing is done in a closed circuit, which makes it impossible to take bends. The second bad is that the controls are tight and unstable. You'll find yourself constantly htting a wall if you don't pull off a James Bond drift around a bend. The menu is difficult to navigate, and you'll need the support and help of friends to finally find out how multiplayer works. The good is that the tuning is the best in the series so far, and the graphics are okay for PS2 likes. There is a good selection of cars, consisting of over 40. Its also pretty long, and you'll take a good couple of weeks to finish. All in all, PS isn't as revolutionary as I expected. But a good attempt.
