I agree with many things in Justin's review of Shift but I don't agree that they are bad things. And I certainly think that a 7.0 is far too harsh of a final grade. He ends his review stating that the game is not appealing to anyone because it's not an arcade racer nor is it a simulation. AND THAT'S WHY I LOVE IT. I never had the patience for Gran Turismo type games and although I find the Burnout franchise to be fun, it's certainly more interesting when driving REAL cars and buying upgrades, tweaking their performance, driving on real racing tracks and getting that amazing sense of speed and the heart racing that you might spin out around the next corner. That's where Need for Speed Shift fills in the gap. The controls are pretty sensitive when using the analog stick but if you have the means I highly suggest getting the Logitech Driving Force GT steering wheel. WOW! It's amazing and worth the cash. Not just because it's so much more fun, which it IS, but the sensitive controls is a total non issue with the steering wheel. Also all the controls are specifically adjustable in game from the steering dead zones, to the sensitivities, etc. I honestly think that Justin played the game for just a few hours and then had to write the review after maybe having a particularly bad day or something. A 7.0 is ridiculous. Shift is finally the driving game I've been looking for.
