I started the game with glee, I enjoy racing games. More to the point, I enjoy proper racing games like GTR, Race 07, Gran Turismo, Forza etc. This game seemed to be heading in that direction but somehow lost the plot. The presentation is great, The cars are OK considering the franchise but the physics are just not right. When you play on a harder level you notice that the cars are not very user friendly. You need to re think how to actually play a racing title before you get it right. Then you check out the different views and when in your " third person " or wing man view you notice the cars seems to steer from the back. Huh ? After playing through the first 2 tiers it starts getting frustrating, When trying to race well on the Green Hell you are constantly taken out by the AI. Grid got it right in that Regard. Shift did not. The best part of the game is the sound. They really made those engines sound powerful. I also noticed the game seemed to crate problems with my console and locked it up a few times. The game seems to lack any real Identity, It wants to be a Sim but feels more like a out of control arcade Sim racer. Its not very forgiving and simply falls short of the real Sim Franchises on the Market
