If you can handle the sloooow load time, then this is a great racer.

First all the bugs are realy annoying. Stuttering sound, missing sky textures, no mouse control in the menu (not realy a bug) And the load time feels like 1-2 min, even for the smallest track. But when you figure out how to fix the bugs (I run in compatible mode for 98/me, and this took care of the sound and texture bugs) then the game start to open up.

Its not an arcade game or a simulation. Something in between - you get rewards for hitting other drivers, but also for driving correct. So it up to you how to play the game. Don't know if the driving physics are accurate, a have not been behind the wheel of a race car. But the hardcore sim freaks behind GTR2 are also some of the programmers behind NFS shift.
Its easy to adjust the difficulty, so it can challenge anybody.

I like how you unlock more and more of the game as you progress. You get points for every race and manouver, which adds up to unlocking new parts for your car or giving you money. You want to go another lap just to unlock or earn enough to buy an upgrade for you favorite car.

Don't play this game with your keyboard. It's meant to be played with a wheel.
But the load time is still not OK, and this is why I wouldn't give this game any higher score.
