great game
When you began to win races (and make money) you can buy upgrades for your car, some are only eye candy like paints and decals, but others are very handy, like better tyres ands suspension. The interface is logic and very complete, with even a DYNAMOMETER to test the performance of your machine.
The controls are responsive, very well thougnt, and they will give you not a single trouble during the game. The sound is just good, the PS2 tries to emit a creible sound of the machines, but even with an amplificator of my stereo the "roar" of the Civic sounds anemic (but even then, you can identificate the V-Tech sound!!!)
If you really like to Tuning machines, you can happily spend countless hours trying to obtain the last drop of horsepower, torque, or tinkering the ECU, bending the characteristics of the suspension and spoilers... ENDLESS FUN!!! Or if you re mor aestetically inclined, the paint, sccesories and decals section is as rich as you can hope for.
Some games complain about the time you have to spend going from one race to another, but I feel that like just a condiment to give more "flavor" to the game... and you can use this to "know" the streets of the city, give a recon so later, when you have to race across this streest, you know what to wait for.
The graphics aresvery effective, and the light effects are very good, but alas, the view from inside the car is ALWAYS the same, without the smollest hint of the car you are driving
