Unlike nfs underground, which according to me is a classic, nfs u:rivals does not have the playability character that the original had. Although there are new modes which are good and fun, i think that the game had some serious game play issues. For one, the traffic's position can never be predicted in the later stages; they always seem to appear out of nowhere. Most of the times, a collision cannot be avoided. I do not wish to lose a race because of luck, I would prefer to lose it due to some other reasonable cause. Also, I do not know whose idea it was to make something like EA Pocket Trax. It sucked !! I mean, we really do not need to see and play some of these rock videos. I can do that online. Instead, add a few movies for a story in the game. And most of the races do not have any motive behind them to be completed. In spite of these several negative points, I considered it to be an average game because of its neat graphics, new modes like drift attack, which is fun, and the various types of cars. So, overall, I would say that need for speed underground fans would be a bit disappointed.
