Need for Speed: Underground

Addictive but Frustrating

I first rented this game and loved it. It was my first racing game I purchased for the XBOX and found the learning curve to be pretty short. The game was addictive and challenging. I enjoyed the way you could customize your car with paint colors, upgrades, features, etc.

Then I started winning some races in Underground mode. Things were going good until I hit race 71 and then the system AI became insanely difficult. I spent nearly 3 hours trying to beat one lousy track! I didn't think I was that bad of a gamer but the AI really put me to shame. As you climb higher in the ranks it gets to the point where there is absolutely no room for error. Hit a car or a wall and you may as well restart the race.

So in a nutshell, the beginning of the game is addictive and great fun but later on you may as well just shut it off because the game pisses you off so bad you're ready to throw the f*****g thing out the window.

  It has the racing, it has the music, it has the great looks as well, but it just gets boring and repetetive.
