Let me just say that if you have been playing Contra since the very beginning that you (like me) will be pleasantly surprised. This game has the fun and action of Contra plus Gauntlet elements. This concoction is a nice mix and add to it the vamped up graphics makes this one of the most fun shooters to date. When I first heard about this game and seeing all the negative reviews, I had to verify if this was indeed a sour puss...I was pleasantly surprised. This game is fun and addicting and conjures up coin-up nostalgic feel to the gameplay. The part when the protagonist rides these creators to kill the enemies is great because it almost reminesce a Star Wars Jedi on one of those flying mobiles riding through the forest. The weapons are pretty cool too and doesn't bore at all. The graphics on the enemies are awesome. The sounds could be better.
