One of the most relaxing fun rpgs i have played in ages with tons of D+D details never getting in the way.
Character creation is a joy with the addition of seeing your character in 3d during the creation process. There are many races to choose from with plenty of looks to select for your character. The countless skills and stats are all there from the original NEVERWINTER NIGHTS to satisfy the control freaks or one can choose some predefined settings while molding your character into being. Love having the option to select voices for my character adding more flavor to who they are.
Graphics are top notch with smooth fluid gameplay. The look of npcs really draws one in and adds to the emotional immersiveness when dealing with them and feeling the loss of allies in battle. The environments are stunning with a magical quality to them which never loses its beauty even when the camera is zoomed all the way in.
Combat is very smooth and much more alive then in the original NWN while still giving the player the option to go into turn based mode.
Music is top notch fitting in perfectly with the games setting and never feeling underwhelming or overwhelming. It is a part of this fantasy world as the world is a part of it.
On my dual core 2.5 with 2 gigs of memory and a Radeon HD 3870 i am able to run with all settings maxed with no slow downs on a fully patched version of NEVERWINTER NIGHTS GOLD which comes with the MASK OF THE BETRAYER expansion.
Support and patch service is incredible and one of the best just like with the first NEVERWINTER NIGHTS. This is one company that loves to support their products years after release.
Just like the previous game a hefty almost 200 page paper manual comes with the Dvds giving one tons of rich info on everything in the game from spell casting to weapon stats and a history of the worlds denizens.
NEVERWINTER NIGHTS 2 GOLD is a highly replayable brilliant immersive experiance and a worthy sequel to the original.
