Fun, needs more polish, and suffers from being released after MOTB and SOZ. Good value for $10US? Definitely!

There are quite a few good things about MOW, the main thrust of the story arc was fine, though not the most original of stories, and most of the side quests were fun and realistic in view of the setting.

What voice acting was in the game was good, but to have a conversation play out half silent, half spoken did not impress very much. Some of the cut scenes and encounters were disjointed and didn't make very much sense.

Westgate itself looked great, was realistically set up, and very multicultural, giving it that 'on the edge of civilization' feel.

The music is also very good.

My main issues relate to the followers. For the most part they were well fleshed out & interesting NPC's. However, to my irritation no magic users are included, so you will need to play one to have one in the party.

I also had an LG PC, (Pal/Doomguide), and found myself at the start teamed up with a NE thief. Had I played it straight the first few minutes would have seen me dragging her off to jail.

In addition having played SOZ, and the freedom that game provides you in crafting a balanced party, as well as allowing followers to take different classes, made leveling in MOW feel terribly constrained.

Is it worth $10US? Very much so, for the price you obtain 20+ hours of fun. That is the same amount of time for many typical expansions that cost you a lot more.

In a nutshell had MOW been released a few years ago, I would have provided a higher score. But when compared to MOTB and SOZ it really is showing its age.
