Does Mario go well with multiplayer?
Gameplay: If you've ever played any sidescroller Mario game you know what to expect. NSMBW is no exception. The standard run along a stage, jump, swim and climb your way to end while using power ups hasn't changed. But new additions to the game such as the penguin and propeller suit make it feel like something new. Among the biggest changes is the ability to play with three other people in the same room. This leads to one heck of a good time as you and your friends shove each other around to get that last 1-up mushroom.
Graphics: Those who played the DS version of this game should know what to see. The same 2.5d sidescrolling action. However NSMBW takes this concept to a whole new dimension. Each character is fleshed out to perfection, and the backgrounds are very nice to look at.
Story: The classic Princess Peach has been captured by Bowser and it's up to the Mario Bros to rescue her is still here, but new additions keep things moving. First of all the Koopa Kids are back and they look better than ever those little tyrants have captured Peach and you must face every one of them twice to get her back. Second the Toads are playable. You could almost hear the simultaneous groans when this was announced, but who else is gonna help save Peach? Wario? Never. DK? What. Finally the return of the airships. These are some of the trickiest levels around with intense fights and the way Bowser JR forgets to jump onboard is always a laugh.
Audio: All the sounds from the originals have been kept and it works out perfectly. The classic hop, power up, power down, 1-up and more are all still there. In addition each Character has a different voice set. Mario's voice is higher than Luigi's so it's easier to tell the two apart.
Replay Value: Very good. After you defeat Bowser's final form there is still lots to do. For example at the end credits you find out that a new world has been unlocked and to unlock the levels in it you must collect all the star coins in that world. With the addition of three save files it is also possible to do Mario's adventure again.
This game is definitely worth $50 so go buy it now.
