Feels like one of the classic games, the improvements the DS makes in graphics and sound create a great experience.

User Rating: 9 | New Super Mario Bros. DS
When I was younger, we used to to visit my Grandmothers house for a week. We still do, but back then, there was an old Nintendo Entertainment System in our guest room. I recall playing Super Mario Bros. 2 frequently. The New Super Mario Bros. gives a similar feeling to that, while still being fresher feeling.

The gameplay is the star of the show here, and if you've played any other Mario Bros. game, you'll get the jist of this. Even though it follows a well-worn formula, the play still feels fresh, and doesn't let you down. The only point it fails on, and only mildly, is the ends of levels. You face Koopa Kid over, and over, and over. The battles against Bowser are great, but those are far between.

New Mario Bros. also includes a series of new power ups, like the blue shell and giant mushroom. These add some excitement, but are not put into much use.

All in all, New Mario Bros. is a game that is fun to play, and seems perfectly fit for the DS.
