UK trade site MCV is reporting that Electronic Arts will pull up stakes in Warrington, England, and close its studio there. According to the article, the move impacts about 50 developers, all of whom have been extended offers to relocate to other English EA studios in Chertsey and Guildford. An EA representative told the trade site that the decision was made not for financial reasons, but "to unify and reinforce" EA's UK studios.

EA's Warrington studio contained the remnants of Studio 33, developer of Destruction Derby on the original PlayStation. EA purchased Studio 33 in 2003 and folded the 75-person staff into its Warrington operation.
