Call of Duty Vita deploying this fall
Sony marketing manager reveals title will launch later this year on Sony's new portable.
Call of Duty for the PlayStation Vita will deploy this fall. That's according to Sony senior vice president of PlayStation brand marketing Guy Longworth, speaking to GameTrailers.
Longworth didn't go into much more detail concerning the mystery project, saying only, "We're still working on it." Activision has not named the game's developer(s), or said if the title will be a port of a past Call of Duty title or a brand-new experience.
With Call of Duty for the Vita out this fall, it will be released during the typical release window of Activision's console Call of Duty games, which have shipped between late October and mid-November every year since the franchise was launched in 2003.
In November, Activision confirmed that a new entry in the Call of Duty franchise will ship during 2012. The latest rumors suggest this title will be Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, though the publisher has not formally announced the title of the new game.
