NFL Blitz 2000 is the football you only dreamed about.

Everyone knows that football can be exciting, but it can also be fairly boring. I was never a fan of the Madden series because it seemed so much more boring to me than regular football, and I'm not a huge football fan to begin with. NFL Blitz 2000 takes all of the boring aspects of football and throws them into the wind with the most hard-hitting, arcade-style, pick-up-and-play football game I've seen to date. It's also inspired Midway to release a line of sports games, the likes of which, such as MLB Slugfest, have also been quite fun.

Some football purists claim NFL Blitz 2000 is shallow and doesn't require strategy, but I think it is far from that. The sheer brutality of the game and the amazing way you can tackle the heck out of anyone you want makes the game exciting and fun for everyone. Because it was originally made to be an arcade game (and boy do I remember playing it in the days of SportsWorld,) sure the game is easy to learn, but it is no way shallow. The music, the atmosphere, the shortened field length and quarter-lengths ensure for an experience that stays fun all the way to the end and never gets dull, no matter how many games you play.
