A decent game of hockey
What i would of liked to see is how they now brought back the shootout a shootout mode would of been nice, but im guessing they didn't bother how they had the freeforall mode. It still would of been nice for some real practice though.
Graphics they are really nice, its smooth and the goaltending saves are nice, hitting and checking seem to look very well done. Checking is very well balanced on the computer side where you don't get nailed every time you pass the blue line. But you can still dish out a great amount of checks.
One of the things i majorly hate about this game and all honesty i hate it, goaltending seems weak. On the hardest setting i am still scoring 8 or more goals a game. Another thing ive noticed is after you score one goal you can score another goal easier, ive scored 3 goals 3 shots and 5 goals on 5 shots. I have also lead 5 goal games to have them score 5 goals in 5 shots which can be a really big annoyence. Goaltending should of been made tighter but its really weak in my point of view that in my opinion takes a lot of fun out of it in my opinion. Ive never played 2k6 so i can't really compare but ive heard it was a really good game. I would rent both first and pick the best over all.
Final thoughts, yes this is a decent game of hockey. You can have a lot of fun all the modes are back even the dreaded goals set for your team in dynasty. EA is getting there.. they just arnt there quite yet.
