I went into this game not expecting too much because of last years disaster. The thing is that NHL 06 could have been a great game, but it had way to many gimmics. The skill stick was unrealistic and the goalies acted like they were having seizure all the time and flopped around on the ice. The scoring was ridiculously high and it was just not fun. This time around they fixed the goalies and got rid of the skill stick and put the passing on the stick intead. That works great by the way, even though it takes a little time to get used to. One timers also have been made a thing that wont hit net every single time, and the same goes for backhand shots. The whole thing feels a lot better and more realistic even though it is still more on the arcady side. The visual side remains the same as last year and that dosn't matter at all, even though the heavier players still look like big football defence men. The game seems fairly easy though, even on the highest difficulty as the AI don't attck much or loose the puck easily. Overall the game is A LOT better than last year and really fun to play, but it is still not wonderfull.
